Having traveled with my parents a number of times, I can tell you that exhaustion is pretty much guaranteed. But! The best way to battle it is by not trying to do everything. Don’t try to hit every museum, don’t try to see every sight and, hard as it may be, don’t try every flavor of gelato. By slowing down and enjoying the things you do fit in, you’ll have a better trip—and come home on speaking terms, too. Have fun! —PB

Here at Jetsetter, we’re always in the mood to celebrate, and Valentine’s Day is no different! Come tweet-up on Valentine’s Day and mingle with other Jetsetters at the Hotel on Rivington in the Lower East Side. We’ll be giving away $500 in Jetsetter credit, a two-night stay at the Shore Club in Miami…
A couple of hotel deals available now can soothe the budgetary sting. One&Only Reethi Rah is offering one night free on stays of seven nights, with half-board included. The Anantara Kihavah is offering seven nights for the price of five, with free breakfast daily. And the W Retreat & Spa: Maldives offers an early booking discount of 10 percent for reservations made more than 60 days out. Not much help, it’s true, but so it goes in the pricey Maldives. —PB
